The selected honoree will be recognized at ALA Annual 2026 in Chicago.
About 60,000 Americans serve on library boards across the country. Each year, the prestigious ALA Trustee Citation, distributed by United for Libraries, recognizes one Trustee among them for distinguished library service.
If you know an outstanding Trustee who had an impact on your library and deserves to be recognized for their achievements, consider nominating them for the Trustee Citation by Friday, March 6.
The 2026 Trustee Citation will be presented to one individual during the Opening General Session of the 2026 ALA Annual Conference. Equal consideration is given to Trustees of libraries of all sizes. Learn more about this award.
