United for Libraries will present two sessions as part of the virtual programming of the Association for Rural & Small Libraries Conference Sept. 20-23—an author panel and a session on “Building a Strong Relationship with the Library Board.”
The United for Libraries author panel will feature Kim Coleman Foote (Coleman Hill), Rene Denfeld (Sleeping Giants), Carley Fortune (This Summer Will Be Different), and Sophie Wan (Women of Good Fortune). The panel is moderated by Donna Seaman of Booklist.
Building a Strong Relationship with the Library Board, featuring United for Libraries Executive Director Beth Nawalinski, will cover how to help board members understand respective roles, including the difference between governance and management; onboarding, training, and succession planning; effective communication; and positive ways to engage board members.
